Note to Schools: To report on funds received, please click here.
Schools can apply for support to two bodies: the EEF Board and the school’s own Site Council.
Grants are made at the start of each school year. EEF sends instructions to all schools and all teachers. Instructions are also found on EEF’s website. All proposals must pass through the school’s site council.
All proposals received are put onto a ‘menu’ for prospective sponsors. The menu is posted on EEF’s website, and paper copies are distributed. A sponsor makes the grant happen with a gift of the full amount (or by finding friends who, together, give the full amount).
The EEF board will look at as many as four proposals per school. The school must send a list naming one, two, three or four proposals, from highest priority to lowest.
Grants are also made to central District programs; there is no cap on the number of District proposals.
Designated gifts reach schools after the close of each quarter (being the last day of March, June, September and December). These funds are allocated by the school’s site council or the council’s delegate. Though many gifts bear additional restrictions (such as “Library Books”), most dollars are available for any educational use.
A person seeking support out of earmarked gifts will have to consult their school’s administration, because schools vary in their allocation procedure.
