2008 Grant Proposal Details
Total: $1963 Description: This project will involve the purchase of two projectors and document readers to be used by seventh and eighth grade teachers. This equipment will be used to enhance instruction, support the study of written language, and improve all students writing ability by providing interactive learning opportunities. Why is this important? In order to provide students with the greatest possible learning opportunity, the language arts teachers must obtain the technology necessary to build upon and improve our academic practices and enhance our learning environment. Who will be served? This project will serve all seventh and eighth grade students in our building as well as all sixth grade students who are currently enrolled in our reading support program, Soar To Success. How will this be evaluated? The success of this project will be measured by evaluating student improvement on district and state reading assessments as well as evaluating student performance on the seventh grade writing assessment. Does this build on existing programs? Although some teachers currently have access to a small number of projectors and document cameras in our building, this proposal would allow this technology to be available to all language arts teachers.
